I think you ment to say 245 ft/lb – 245 nm equates to aprox 177 ft/lb, which is pretty weak for a 4.0L V8, even runnin on 88 RON. If you call yourself a car enthusiate, you should try these out at least once in your lifetime. And the sound of that V8 through the twin flowmasters……Įventually changed to a 2.0T Eclipse AWD because that monster is close to impossible to drive in the snow…….The forcefed Eclipse made more hp and slightly less torque than the LT1. It only had something like 285hp, but 330ft-lbs (450Nm) of torque. It would spin the 245 rears up on 3rd gear at 100+kmh. I had a Camaro Z28 with a massive 5.7L LT1GM smallblock. Its the stump pulling, tire shredding, accelerate like a banshee at any gear torque. They ain't that bad.įWIW, these are simple and reliable engines, and run on 88 octane gas.Įven at that time, the 4.6 modular V8 made only something around 285hp (apparently 315hp now), obviously, you don't want your base engine to match the output of the top end V8. The old 4.0V6 may only produce 210hp, but it makes 245nm of torque….
